I was told these candlesticks are brass but on the outside they have a copper tone to their color so I am not exactly sure what they are made of. On the inside and under the bottoms they have a yellow brass color. A light magnet does not react to them. They have some areas with a green patina on them. The patina is heaviest in the inside of the wax catchers and along the bases. They come in four pieces per candlestick. These pieces can be mixed and matched to allow you to have four candlesticks at approx. 13 inches high, or four at approx. 19 3/8" high or two at approx. 25 5/8" high. You can also put them together to form one candlestick approx. 38 3/8". The drip catchers can be installed or removed. There are a total of 16 pieces in the whole set: four bases, four drip catcher bowls, four center pieces, and four top pieces that hold the candle. The candle opening at the top is approx. 1 3/4 inches. The pieces are threaded and can be arranged in several different configurations. The markings on these candlesticks appear (to me- AND I AM IN NO WAY SHAPE OR FORM A CANDLESTICK OR ANTIQUE EXPERT) to be hand made. The marks are not quite as evenly depthed or as aligned as I would expect from a machine.The candlesticks are hollow throughout the center.
