All Brass HO Scale Union Pacific Railroad (UP) Riveted Short Turbine Tender from Overland Models, Inc. (OMI) . A very nice and extremely hard to find HO scale brass model of Union Pacific's riveted short turbine tender with the six wheel Buckeye trucks. This is the tender that carries heavy grade bunker fuel oil for UP's famous 3-unit 8500 HP Gas Turbine Electric Locomotives (GTEL). These tenders came from the retired early Challeger steam locomotives and were converted by UP in the late 1950's specifically for the 3-unit turbines. This particular model was manufactured by the master craftsmen of Ajin Precision in Korea and imported by Overland Models most likely as extra tenders for the 8500 HP 3-unit turbine project in the early 1990's. With all brass construction and quality workmanship, it is a must have addition for the UP collector and modeler who is looking for that missing short turbine tender. In absolute mint condition with pristine brass finish and comes with the original box and foam. Please check out the enclosed photos.
