All Brass HO Scale Union Pacific Railroad (UP) DC-3 Rail Detector Car from Ajin Precision/Overland Models, Inc. (OMI) . An extremely nice and rare HO scale brass model of Union Pacific's unique DC-3 Rail Detector Car. A limited production of only 129 models were imported and this is #66 . This model represents the rebuilt version as it appeared in 1965. The prototype was used by UP's Maintenance of Way Department (MOW) to check for rail defects throughout the system. This exotic model was manufactured by the master craftsmen of Ajin Precision in Korea and imported by Overland Models as catalog #1859.1 in March 1999. With all brass construction and quality workmanship it has the detailing and exquisite craftsmanship that are second to none, check out the impressive roof detail. It has to be one of the nicest specialty equipment models ever made in HO scale brass, a must have addition for the UP collector and modeler. This DC-3 has been beautifully factory painted in the famous UP yellow and gray paint scheme with crisp pad printed lettering and full window glazing plus operating constant intensity directional lighting. Powered by a high quality Buehler can motor, it runs very smooth and quiet. In brand new condition and comes with the original box and foam which are also in excellent condition.
