Key Imports New York, New Haven and Hartford Class J-1 2-8-2 Mikado New Haven's Prototype Notes: This is a model of the New Haven's class J-1 Mikado. This engine dates to around 1916 and is similar in size to the USRA light Mike. However the details are quite different. The New Haven had a small fleet of 25 engines in the J-1 class and 8 in the J-2 class. The Class J-1 mikado #3016 had the honor of the last New Haven steam locomotive in service in 1959. It was used for a motion picture called "It Happened to Jane".It and sister 3020 were kept for snow melting service. Mfg/Import Key Imports imported this from Samhongsa of Korea in the mid 1980s. . Features: Robust Brass Construction High Quality Detailel Canon Instrument Motor Item Condition: This model is in excellent condition. Looks like it has no use , I bought this model for my New Haven collection in 2002 from eBay. It has only been on display and only test used. (My layout is On3 and I only display HO) There may be an issue. I am not sure about the tender. It really looks like a USRA Mike tender. But it was the tender that I got with this engine. I lubed and tested the engine and it runs perfectly , very smooth and quiet. Box Condition : Original Box and foam are perfect.
