comes a stunning OIL on wood ICON with a finely chased brass MOUNTING. This religious artwork shows the portrayal of the standing Virgin Mary surrounded by several saints and adorants. Above the mother of god we can see the portrait of Jesus. The icon is of RUSSIAN origin and dates back to the 19th century or possibly even earlier. SPECIFICATIONS:

This fantastic Russian icon shows the depiction of the Virgin Mary in a standing posture and above her head is a miniature portrait of Jesus. The mother of god is surrounded by several saints as well as adorants. The brass mounting is executed in fine embossing and chase work and additionally we find an onset forming the halo of Mary.
