This auction is for one brass oil/kerosene boat signal lantern. The lantern is marked "Boat Signal Lantern" above the hinged lens plate. This lantern is8 1/2 inches tall and the base measures 3 1/2 inches wide. In the front t is a clear bullseye lens on a hinged plate. The exterior has a nice patina and a very few dents which I believe adds to the character of the piece (see photos.) Inside the lantern lays a cylinder, which is rotated by means of a spring loaded knob beneath the lens to allow light to be visible or non-visible. Also on the interior t is a reflective surface behind the burner to intensify the flame. The reflective surface is in good condition with no substantial smudges, blemishes, or scratches. The oil reservoir/wick assembly is unfortunately missing. I will ship this item for a flat shipping/handling rate of $10.00 (contiguous 48 states only.)
