All thing considered, this is in really good condition and could be used even now but we don't seem to use breadboxes any more. I'm not sure why. On the other hand, I'm not sure why we once did use breadboxes. This one is just like the one on our counter at home. I can still see where it was sitting. This isn't the same one but ours was just like this. In fact this one looks a little nicer than I remember the one we had. Do you remember the TV quiz show where I think it was Bennett Surf always asked "is it bigger than a breadbox?" I want to say it was "What's My Line" but I don't think that's right. Maybe it was "I've Got A Secret". I could go on but my age is beginning to show. In any event, here it is. Lots of nostalgia and fond memories of fresh baked bread.
