This is an outstanding find of a high quality music box that was created by "Reuge" in "Switzerland" about 40 years ago! The case is made entirely of heavy wood and finished in a lovely blend of walnut shades with lots of the grain showing through. T is a beautiful, ornate inlay on the top and it too is simply stunning! The top is hinged and the interior has a velvet lined area for rings and jewelry as well as a clear cover over the mechanical music box to allow for viewing the gears as they turn. The music begins when the lid is raised and ceases when the lid is closed. The box plays one of the loveliest versions of the "Rapsodie on a Theme from Paginini" that I've ever heard. It's my wife's favorite! T is an intact label underneath identifying the song title and Swiss origin. T is a metal winding key underneath and an intact label indicating that the box was made in "Italy." T are tapered goldtone metal feet in each corner as well. I've looked the case over fairly well and can't find any issues; it's in very nice shape! It's the perfect size too measuring about 2 1/4" high (lid closed), about 4 3/8" deep, and about 3 1/2" wide.
