This is a Beautiful 34.6 Gram Slice, of the Brenham Meteorite. It is 5 mm X 38 mm X 70 mm. It comes with a Oak Base and a Brenham Nameplate. Also, Included is a Brenham Meteorite Card Showing Steve Arnold's 1,400 lb. found in Oct. 2005. This slice is from a 108 lb. Brenham that Kansas Meteorite Society acquired from Steve Arnold that was found in Kiowa County Kansas., near the large end of the strewn field. This meteorite comes with a Certificate of Authenticity / Kansas Meteorite Society Specimen CardSome twenty thousand years ago this Pallasite Meteorite impacted the ground near Haviland Kansas. It is a stunning piece that has Olivine and Peridot crystals with a iron/nickel support matrix. We take great care in handling these rare pieces by not allowing any water in the cutting and polishing process and we seal the final product with a blend of hot waxes that are buffed back to a high gloss finish.. Only one percent of all Meteorite finds are of the Pallasite type. As you can see by the photos this is one piece that should be in every ones display case. As with all Meteorites that have an iron/nickel base are suspectable to rust.To keep your specimen from tarnishing or rusting. Place the specimen on a flat surface and gently rub with any metal polish, like Brasso or Peek, then buff to a high gloss, clean area off with Cotton cloth.
