This Brett Weston photograph "Holland Canal" is signed and dated "Brett Weston 1971" on the lower right front corner of the mount. I purchased the print in 1994 from the Vision Gallery in San Francisco. This is their description: “Brett Weston's "Holland Canal" was taken in The Netherlands in 1971 and printed by the artist in 1972. It is an archivally processed silver gelatin print measuring approximately 10 x 8 inches. It is signed and dated in pencil at front on the mount.” This is from a December 20, 1994 letter to me from the gallery. A copy of this letter will accompany the photograph. The mount is 15 x 13-1/4 inches, and is clean with no discoloration and no bent corners or marred edges. The print is securely attached to the mount with no lifting or damage to the edges or corners. The surface of the print has small indentations in dark areas toward the lower left and upper right, both of which are visible only with glancing light. One of the pictures shows the lower left under glancing light. The upper right indentation is too small to photograph. There are no breaks in the print surface. The back of the mount has the number "1035" pencilled at the upper left corner, and "Vintage VG (circled) BW222 9500 VTOZ" pencilled along the lower edge. One picture shows this, but the pencilling is very light.
