Man am I excited to bring the curtain off this guy! Fresh from Fox Valley Artist Studio is Baphomet, an exotic unicorn! Customized from a Breyer rearing stallion, he now has a beefy head; cloven hooves; more detailed muscles; added veins; tons of feathering; a new mane and more donkey-like tail; more detailed 'male parts'; and of course that beautiful, curling horn hand-carved from hard cherry wood. He's well-prepped, primed and covered in layers and layers of the best pastels on the market. I used acrylics and calligraphy pens for the fine details, and t are a lot of fine details! He has rabicino roaning; beautiful shadow leopard-like spots; and a rich color that blends from a sandy dun over his neck, to a dark chocolate on his barrel, and then into a red bay over his hind-quarters. I even did some work with clear acrylic to give him noticeable fur. The photos really don't show the amount of detailing that went into him! The tail is quite stable, despite being much thinner at the top. The best part of this model is the fact that you can remove the horn not only for easy transport, but also with a little patch work, you've got a horse for the exotic class (he's colored like a hypohippo, but his body type can easily tie him to the dinohippus or pliohippus )!
