One is a Breyer 'Duchess' mould horse, one is a Grand Champions 'feed n nuzzle' drastic custom. The Breyer has had the original moulded on mane and tail removed; also the logo sanded off and a tail hole added. She was painted to a slightly metallic black (a colour that can genuinely occur in Akhal Tekes) with white blaze and stockings and has had a synthetic hair tail added. She has no mane however as Akhal Tekes commonly have hogged manes. A fairly simple custom but very pretty. The other model had the body taken from a Grand Champions feed and nuzzle horse but I sculpted the neck and head from scratch as well as repainting/rehairing it to a buckskin colour. The neck and head was made by hot-gluing a wire frame into the body after removing the original neck/head, roughly sculpting over this with air-drying clay, then sculpting over the top of this with milliput epoxy putty for detail/strength. I then prepped and painted it to a yellow-buckskin colour with slight dapples and haired it with black synthetic hair. Note the neck is meant to look quite long as Akhal Tekes tend to be quite slim horses and sometimes have ewe necks too, but read more
