Othello, the black Shire,Imporessive in stature, great in heart, Shires carried jousting Knights and soldiers in Medieval times. But they were more than war horses. Celtic Kings bred them to insure their People's survival. They were the stout carriage horses to deliver drayage from the waterfront over unpaved city roads to deep within the moors. Othello is an outstanding example of the breed. He is exhibiting a powerful stride, poised as if in harness or awaiting the battle cry. His mane and tail cascade like a waterfall from his head and haunches. Feathers on his legs echo the cadence of each great hoof. Portraying such a grand animal in fine bisque porselain, sculptor Kathleen Moody combines power and poery. This hand painted sculpture represents a truly heroic figure.

The horse is just the same as it came from the factory. The paint job shows visable brush marks but is still a very beautiful piece. The box has some damage but still in good condition.
