One of many exceptional pieces in this collection. Please examine all photos, ask questions and request info if needed. This is from an estate of Irma Lakusta Osborn. This jewelry was part of her personal collection and has never been on the market before. I believe it is called "fresh" to the market. Please read the bio for provenance. This estate also includes Niki Pearls, Vendome, Hollycraft, Vogue, Kramer New York, Robert Original, Mazer, Weiss ,Hobe, and a Fabulous unmarked Deco Parure. The bio provided by her daughter reads as follows: Irma Lakusta Osborn (1913-1990) was born in Denver , Colorado of Russian/German heritage. Her Russian father Nicholas Lakusta spoke 20 languages, and had set out from what was then part of the Austrian-Hungarian Empire as a young businessman with the North German Lloyd shipping lines. He became a popular estate attorney for the "beautiful people of Denver ," as Molly Brown would have put it. Nicholas kept his old world charm and was known to click his heels and tip his hat to ladies he greeted. Irma's mother Clara loved good parties and interesting people, and Irma, her sister Olga, and brother Boris were expected to carry on the "social graces," which included impeccable taste in dress and manners. Being the youngest, Irma was allowed by her father to be somewhat the rebel. Her nature was to be curious, opinionated, expressive and honest all at once. However, while still "under her father's roof," Irma managed to contain her impulses for the dramatic and became individually artistic. Irma married a perfect gentleman, Robert Miller Osborn, who absolutely adored her and encouraged her to pursue two major interests: painting and acting. During World War II, while Bob was stationed as a naval lieutenant at Harvard to learn radar, the couple lived in Rockport , Massachusetts , w Irma studied landscape and seascape painting from the very best, including Aldro Hibbard and Frank Rines. After WWII, when Bob and Irma moved to Pasadena , California to raise a family, Irma took classes at the then-thriving school of theater arts at the Pasadena Playhouse. She starred in many legitimate theater productions in Pasadena and Hollywood , at the same time being a "socialite" and philanthropist. Irma's taste in dress was never ordinary; she combined the glamour of Hollywood with the nobility of her ancestry. She was especially fond of exceptional quality costume jewelry, designer clothes and we won't even talk about the shoes!!!Irma and Bob gave great parties. Irma was a perfectionist and had the talent of making any event extra special, because her own joy was so contagious. Her daughter offers this collection which honors her glamorous mother's passion for life, people and beautiful things.
