On many occasions we get asked if our works are prints given their high quality and detail like no other offered. So, just for the record J This thangka is a 100% original hand painted with real stone paint on canvas adorned with pure 24k gold!
This Thangka illustrates the Paradise of the Medicine Buddha. Shown surrounding the Medicine Buddha in his jewelled palace are a collection of native Tibetan herbs and plants drawn from the 8th Century Tibetan handbooks of Tibetan medicine. Traditional Tibetan medicine is a mix of local arboreal knowledge, combined with Indian Ayurvedic and Chinese concepts. The belief is that sickness is a result of an imbalance in bodily substances, but negative spiritual influences, such as hatred, desire, and ignorance can also lead to this imbalance. Beyond the physical body, such factors as the astrological alignment, wrathful spirits, and degenerate karma can lead to illness. Aside from the consumption of healing herbs, featured in this thangka along with their Tibetan names, positive spiritual practice may also return harmony to the body. The energy of the medicinal thangka aligns the beholder's consciousness on a path towards wellness. THIS IS AN EVEN LAGER PIECE THAN HIS OTHER AND MEASURES A LOVELY 25 INCHES BY 20 INCHES WIDE! THE DETAIL AND WORK IS INCREDIBLE! I AM THE ONLY SELLER TO ACTUALLY OFFER HAVING THESE THANGKAS MOUNTED IN PURE TIBETAN STYLE SILK BROCADE READY FOR MOUNTING AND DISPLAY. A FIFTH GENERATION THANGKA BROCADE MASTER SHALL ACCENT THE BEAUTY O THIS ALREADY MAJESTIC THANGKA FOR A SMALL FEE! OF COURSE, WE USE ONLY PURE SILK OF THE HIGHEST CLASS, NO POLYESTER OR CHINESE BROCADE USED :) I doubt you shall ever see a Medicine Buddha done in such wonderful beauty, I am particularly fond of the colors used in this piece with springing energy across the canvas! Aside form the obvious beauty of Medicine buddha please take notice of the more subtle things that make this a truly masterful piece-facial features, his robe, the springing water, his assistants and his healing herb to name only very few Unlike the atrocious "antique" thangkas that the Chinese power sellers on Ebay litter across this website from their "faketories" which claim that their works are valued at $2,000-$3000 yet have absolutely no reserve price or start bid price. Rather this thangka is a contemporary piece made in accordance with the strict tradition of Thangka making which takes months to complete intricately detailed works of caliber.DON'T BE DUPED BY POOR QUALITY, 5 FEET, CHINESE IMIATATIONS! A SIMPLE EXERCISE-LOOK AT THE CLOSE-UPS OF ALL THE THANGKAS WHICH I OFFER AND THE AND COMPARE THE DETAIL, CLARITY, COLORS AND ICONOGRAPHY DEPICTED BY THE GLUT OF CHINESE THANGKAS ON SALE.
