is a impressive brass compass marked BRINTON COMPASS / C.S.A. / THOS.J.EVANS, ESQ / LONDON / MK1 / 1862. It measures about 3 1/4" in diameter and 1 3/8" thick. Both leveling vials are intact and it works fine. It's in excellent condition for it's age, I can't fine any flaws with it at all.
