Britains Set 00091 Scots Guards Colour Party 5 Piece Box set of Soldiers, The W. Britains Lead Soldiers Range Celebrating Pageantry-Heritage and Tradition. The W. Britain brand name of toy and collectable soldiers is derived from a company founded by William Britain Jr., a British toy manufacturer, who in 1893 invented the process of hollow casting in lead, and revolutionized the production of toy soldiers . The company quickly became the industry leader, and was imitated by many other companies, such as Hanks Bros. and John Hill and Co. [1 ] The style and scale of Britain's figures became the industry standard for toy and model soldiers for many years. This is a smart Boxed Set of 4 Soldiers and 1 Guard Box , in the Scots Guards Colour Party Boxed Set, by W. Britains. Scale not marked but Soldiers are approx 6 CM tall , so 1:32 is guessed at. The figures are all meticuously detailed , and hand painted, and detail and quality is typical of Britains. The items comes each on there own metal stand, under which is engraved the words, Britains Ltd. The set is as follows, * 2 Soldiers Marching with rifles at shoulder arms. * 2 Soldiers marching with Sword and different colours. * 1 Guard Box. The outer box has only very minor shop wear to it , but is considered to be in Very Good condition however the box will be sent in a thin card sleeve to help protect it in transit. I have several of these Soldier sets on sale, and other ones to be listed soon, also single unit Scottish pipers and other Scottish Bandsmen figures and bandsmen either already up or going up soon, including Bugler, Big Drum, Pipe major etc. Please feel free to Email and ask any questions.
