Extra-tall or Monumental Tea Pot made of Britannia metal by Leonard, Reed & Barton ( Taunton , Mass. ) Estate item Leonard, Reed & Barton was just one of the successive companies that makes the history of Reed & Barton - Leonard, Reed & Barton was incorporated in 1837 and was superseded by Reed & Barton in 1840 - the Leonard, Reed & Barton mark may have been used until 1847 Britannia metal was an improved type of inexpensive metal that was used to make traditional pewter ware... Its use was supplanted by silver-plate in mid 19 th Century Excellent estate condition Lightly tarnished but retains some brightness - Very few dings and some discolored spots - Original black paint on handle and top knob is in excellent condition Age: 1837-1847 The base is marked with "3500 Leonard, Reed & Barton 10" Size: Overall 13 3/4" high; 6" wide; 11 1/2" wide across handle & spout Estimated shipping weight: 4-5 pounds I am verified, please bid with confidence.
