GENUINE 1960'S BRITISH ARMY ISSUE MILLBANK WATER PURIFICATION BAG UNISSUED AND NEVER USED BUT HAS STORAGE MARKS - RARE LARGE 5 GALLON UNIT ISSUE SIZE A RARE AND POPULAR CHOICE FOR BUSHCRAFT PRACTITIONERS! On issue to the british Armed forces since WW2, for auction here is a genuine 1960's vintage green canvas 'Millbank' water filtration bag, in unussued condition, never used but with some light storage marks. All sizes of these bags are hard to find, but these larger group bags are super-rare! Made from a very fine weave canvas, these bags are used by the military to filter sediment and larger organic matter from water as part of the proccess of making drinkable, they are not designed to provide safe drinking water on their own but to be used along with boiling or puritabs to provide a potable supply of water. You can find a wealth of information about these bags on the internet and to be honest if you are already looking at this listing you probably know how these work anyway but just in case, the bags are simply soaked in water to wet the canvas, then they are filled and hung up on a branch or vehicle ect, whereupon the forces of gravity slowly pass the water through the bottom of the filter bag where it can then be collected.
