A fully renovated black bakelite British GPO 332 art deco styled telephone The 300 series telephone was provided by the GPO between the late 1930's and mid 1960's. It was the first bakelite telephone to incorporate an internal bell. This is a GPO version with the handset and base plate carrying the appropriate markings. It does not however include a dialling code drawer. Like all of my bakelite telephones this example has undergone a full strip down renovation. All electrical parts have been tested cleaned and reset, in addition, the internal wiring has been adapted to ensure compatibility and conversion to the modern UK system. It is ready to plug in and it will work correctly with other telephone equipment on networks supporting pulse dialling.
