This very good condition Pattern 1914 Bayonet was made by Remington in September 1917 for the British but was taken over by the U.S. Army. The British marks were lined out and the U.S. marking added. Only a very few Remington made bayonets were marked in this manner. The bayonet has a gray parkerized finish which probably dates from WWII refurbishment. The excellent condition 17 inch blade is marked on the left ricasso with 1913 over 9-17 over the circled REMINGTON logo. The right ricasso displays cancelled British inspection marks over U.S. The crossguard and pommel have slight patina over the parkerized finish. The bayonet has not been cleaned. The wood grips held by two screw bolts are in very good condition. Please see all of the photos for condition and bid accordingly. This is not a pristine bayonet but it presents a very good appearance for a display or a collection. It was on the wall with my bayonet collection for many years. Foreign bidders must pay for the item using PAYPAL or International Money Order only. I do not accept bids from or ship to Italy, Japan or Spain due to customs problems or any other country that prohibits importation of this item. Insurance is required and is the responsibility of the buyer. Seller will not be held responsible for loss in the postal system or customs. No reserve on this bayonet.
