British Royal Marine Colonel's Rank Slide Badges These rank badges for a full colonel of the Royal Marines are a contemporary item, and are embroidered in black on an olive green cloth ground. They are of a pattern unique to the Royal Marines in that they can be worn on the shoulder straps, or via a short strap on the back, on the front of other garments. Note the straight sides and clipped upper corners which identify these slides, which also in typical RN/RM fashion have the stock number (in this case V) on the back. Interestingly, this type of slide also is worn by officers of some if not all Army Commando units. Unused condition, 4" tall.
