This auction is for a British GS Mk6 ballistic helmet, size "Oversize". that means it's flippin' HUGE. It also means it's got lots of room to customize, if you're into that - you could stick some more ballistic pads in t, or a custom suspension, or electronics up the wazoo. It's pretty nice for a do-it-yourselfer.The helmet outershell is in amazing condition, only minor cosmetic damage (see my photos for details). Most of the original green paint is still t, but a couple of dings reveal the flat black of the ballistic layers underneath. The rubber edging is all in perfect condition, and still soft. This outershell is supposedly somew around NIJ level IIIa (stops all non-AP handgun, shotgun, and SMG rounds), but I do not warrant, condone, or endorse its use against such projectiles in any way - I'm selling this strictly as a collectable. Or for when the zombies attack. ;)The lining is all in excellent condition, none of the mildew or dry rot that seems to plague these helmets. I've thorooughly cleaned the interior of the helmet with Benzalkonium chloride wipes, so nothing unsanitary leftover from it's use in service. The leather-covered pads are supple, uncracked, clean, and really cushy. Even though doesn't fit me worth a darn, this helmet is the most comfortable I've ever worn.
