A Beautiful New Reproductionof a 3.5" (6pdr) 18th Century Howitz Barrel. This barrel is new, andhas been proof tested. The Barrel is 17 3/4" long x 6 1/2 in DIA. It weighs in at about 112 lbs of Solid Naval Gun Bronze. I personally built the wooden pattern for this barrel, and had it cast Solid, then bored by a professional ordance foundry in Fremont Ohio . This piece has a bore of 3.5" and a powder chamber of 2.25" (a mahogany cartridge former is included). The Barrel features a Raised Shell shaped touch-hole, Crown over "GR", and a blank Banner near the muzzle for your own inscription. This is a very high quality casting, and was the first casting from my pattern...and as a result, this casting is higher quality than the following castings as the pattern was worn and damaged. Gilmor Ordanace prices this barrel at $1,200 however I am in need of the funds, and will be getting out of the hobby for awhile so my reserve is substantially lower. If you wish, I can provide a custom built carriage as seen in the last photograph for an additional $1,700 (or with more period square spoked wheels for $2,300) The Barrel must be picked up near Dayton, Ohio. Otherwise Freight Shipping will apply.
