THIS IS A BEAUTIFUL BRONZE PLAQUE OF A MAN WHOSE NAME APPEARS TO BE CHARLES CERCIER A WONDERFUL HIGH RELIEF BUST-PLAQUE... This is an Auction for a fairly unique item. We are uncertain as to the age of this bronze -- but it is clearly much older than the current mounting, which itself looks to be 40-50 years old. It is marked 1835, but of course could be a copy... but t does not seem to be a good reason to copy the bust of an unknown artist and an unknown subject [?]. We do not know quite what to make of it... regardless of its true origins; it would be absolutely beautiful properly framed! Good Luck Bidding.
