This seldom offered bronze medal is designedby famous Finnish sculptor Kauko Räsänen, born 1926. He has designed numerous medals in addition to his important career as one of the leading sculptors in Finland. American Numismatic Society J. Sanford Saltus award was awarded to Kauko Räsänen in 1986. Multicomponent medals are central in artist´s production. Räsänen designed his first 2-component medal in 1970 and later several two, three and multi componet medals. The works of Kauko Räsänen have been widely exhibited in Finland and internationally, latest in Munich, Germany 2011 - 2012. This bronze medal is manufactured by TILLANDER 1980. On the main side reads SUOMEN RAKENNUSURAKOITSIJALIITTO and 1920. On the reverse side reads KAUKO RÄSÄNEN 1980. On the edge is imprinted TILLANDER and KER. K. The diameter is 80 mm and the weight is 522 grams. The medal is illustrated in the book written by Josef Hackl and Dietrich O. A. Klose: Kauko Räsänen, Neue Wege in der Medaillenkunst; Staatliche Münzsammlung München, 2011, ISBN 978-3-922840-27-5, pic. No 97 on page 127.
