BRONZE MEDAL FROM DUMAREST (1750-1806) LA BANQUE DE FRANCE 1800-1950, awarded (reverse) / "THE WISDOM SETS THE FORTUNE" (obverse).Rambert DUMAREST , born in Saint -Étienne 17 September 1750 and died April 4, 1806 is a French medals engraver and draftsman. He was the son of a gunsmith . First draftsman, he then started his career as an engraver on weapons in arms factory of Saint Etienne where he engraved guards sword and gun decks. He was also a writer for two years in the manufacture of Soho , England. He then returned to Paris, where he devoted himself to chasing for silverware and jewelery.
