Vintage menu from The Brown Derby restaurant at the corner of Wilshire Blvd and Rodeo Dr in Beverley Hills. The inside with all of the prices has the date of Dinner, Tuesday, April 28, 1942. Pearl Harbor was on Dec. 7th, 1941 so America was involved in World War II at the time this menu was printed. The front is decorated with caricatures of the movie stars at the time. I think that might be Bob Hope in the big drawing. The menu items and prices are a lot of fun:Old Fashioned Oven Pot Roast with Crisp Potato Pancakes, Creamed Spinach 1.25Half Dungenesse Cracked Crab, Ice, Mayonnaise 0.85Cheese Cake 0.25Certified Guernsey (Half Pints) 0.15The menu is framed in Lucite, clear on both sides. The frame can be hung or it can sit flat. It has 4 Lucite feet (the spots behind the foot in one of the photos is the glue holding the foot to the frame). The top 2 have notches for nails or hooks for hanging. The Lucite measures 24" by 17 1/2", the menu measures 20" by 13 1/2". It weighs 7 pounds. We found it at an estate sale in Mission Viejo, California. California sales tax for shipments to CA. Visit My Collectibles Store
