Brown Mohair STEIFF BEAR 0160/26 West GermanyFrom 1983 Collectors set w leather paw pads, white tag Darker brown mohair STEIFF Bear 0160/26 made in Western Germany with white ear tag and gold tone button. This Steiff Chocolate Brown Teddy Bear was offered in 1983. He was part of a set but he's flyin' solo today in this auction. 
Labeled Margaret Steiff Gienger-Brenz.. he was made in West Germany is formally part of a grouping with Style No. 0160/00. The individual number of this bear is 0160/26. He's 26cm (or approx 9" tall).
The bear is dark brown mohair, and the pads on his paws are a cinnamon brown leather, and the claws are separated with black cord; his mouth and nose are emphasized with the black cord; eyes are bright and shiny and are dark brown. As you can see by these photos, he's pristine and gorgeous!White ear-tag Steiff's are rare. From a private collection of Steiff bears and vintage dolls that's been stored in large trunks in a private estate in Pacific Palisades.
