Cope This book is truly a nostalgic venture into tooling catalogues of the 19 th Century. {1868-1899} Featured in this book are reprints of three of the most interesting and important late 19 th century catalogs from the related Brown & Sharpe family of tool makers. They are of particular value to collectors and industrial historians during the pre-1990’s. The Brown & Sharpe Manufacturing Company, its predecessor J. R. Brown & Sharpe, and the closely associated Darling, Brown & Sharpe, were the premier makers of machine tools and machinists’ tools form the American Civil War to the time of the Gulf War. Three catalogs dating from 1868 to 1899 are listed this book.
