A J WILKINSON ~ ROYAL STAFFORDSHIRESAFE HARBOUR BROWN TRANSFERWARE LIDDED PITCHER or COFFEE / TEA POT For consideration is this early pitcher / pot from A J Wilkinson / Royal Staffordshire Ceramics of Burslem England in the difficult to find pattern entitled Safe Harbour.
This piece has a polychromatic brown on creamy white transfer depicting a stunning ship scene. Clipper ships fill the harbour and a town is in the background nestled in the hills and alongside the sea port. The scalloped border frames the scene beautifully.Measures: 7' tall x about 4.5" across Condition is good, no chips, cracks or crazing. The glaze has darkened a bit with age, giving a nice patina. It appears to have never been used, or either used seldom. The inside is very clean with no staining at all. The stamp below is actually from a plate and is exactly like the samp on the bottom of the pitcher. The pitcher also has the numbers 775 impressed on the bottom. Don't miss this opportunity to add a rare piece to your collection!!! Be sure to add A NICHE APART to your favorites list ! Check out my other items for more in this pattern! ~~~Thank you~~~
