FINE Brown Transferware� Plate ~ DUCK & PEACOCK 1880 Description & Details FINE Brown Transferware Plate ~ DUCK & PEACOCK 1880 PEACOCK FEATHERS Sarreguemines Potteries, formally Alsace-Lorraine France c 1880 This stunning earthenware transferware plate is a wonderful piece of 19th century transferware! The plate measures 9 1/4 " in diameter and is transfer printed in dark chocolate brown. It is beautifully decorated with a continuous roping of flowers along the rim, An Iris in bloom, a Peacock feather, wild grain surround two vignettes of Fruit and a Mallard duck in flight. An exceptional pattern. The piece is in EXCELLENT condition, clean shiny and bright. No chips, no cracks, no hairlines and no repairs. Normal utensil use and a bit of age toning to the rear only.
