Rare and very fine large pitcher from Brown-Westhead, Moore & Co. ca: 1877 in the
red Indian Empress pattern. When I found this piece it was wrapped in an old cloth,
tucked into a trunk. It is in excellent condition and mostly had quite a bit of "stuff" inside
from sitting on a shelf. There is no damage, crazing or chips. I can find one tiny firing
crack over the handle as seen in the photo, but that's it. The base is marked as shown
and it measures approx. 10 3/4" tall. Brown-Westhead, Moore & Co. were manufacturers
of high grade earthenware at Cauldon Place, Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire from
1862 to 1904.
