NO RESERVE !! SUPERIOR RAW SILVER DOLLAR THE 1882-CC MORGAN SCARCE THIS NICE ! The 1882-CC is a rare coin in any grade. You seldom see a raw, ungraded Morgan from this strike in original condition listed on here in a pure auction. Especially at no reserve ! All examples from this low mintage date in the Morgan series continue to disappear from the available supply. And rise in value. You could hardly find a better place to park your money than a scarce Morgan from the key mint in collecting. Brilliant Uncirculated, superior strike and a fantastic coin which can be graded anywhere or makes a sharp centerpiece for a raw collection. Less than 2% of the Morgans ever minted carry the famous CC mintmark. So few were made during the 13 years of coinage that today, just finding silver dollars with the CC on the reverse is getting difficult and increasingly expensive. By way of example, the Philadelphia mint alone produced TEN TIMES more Morgans than did the Carson City mint. Only 1.1 million of these were even struck in 1882 and then the mint ceased striking Morgans 12 years later...placing even more demand pressure on each CC date. It's an interesting part of the fascinating history of the coin. There will never be enough of them to meet collector demand. They make the best investments in the Morgan series. Especially a Brilliant Uncirculated specimen like this 1882-CC; it will only show a huge return over time. Since it's a silver dollar from the key mint in coin collecting and in a notorious low mintage date, it really strikes at the heart of rare coin collecting. It shows to be an outstanding example of the famous Carson City strike and it has crisp, bold features on both sides ! The cc mintmark is bold and the color is mostly white with a touch of whitegold toning. Full cartwheel effect, clean and smooth cheeks with some but minimal bagmarks, mint frost, brilliant on both sides or it can be sent to either top service for holdering if that's your style of collecting. Also makes a standout example for an album. The views are fully gradable and the coin grades nicely by either 3rd-party. Only two grading services matter and you know which ones they are. The obvious quality and detail makes it as fine an investment in rare silver as you could hope to acquire. It has a blazing goldenwhite appearance and is a true numismatic rarity. You can actually build an impressive Morgan set around this very mint state '82-cc ! This mint ceased production of all coins in November of 1893 and today it's a state museum. Well worth a visit. Go there if you get within a few hundred miles of it. I've also uploaded a picture of this mint, taken in 1890. You get a copy of the picture (I send one with every CC which I ship) and can also see the coin press used to strike every Morgan. It's been refurbished and is used to strike a token that visitors can purchase. Most any seller charges to ship a coin this valuable since it has a significant and insurable worth. Not me.
