This listing is for the old bank penny roll similar to or better than the roll shown in the pictures above, which shows these end coins:A BU Silver Mercury DimeA Wheat Penny ReverseWe purchased these rolls in a massive collection from someone trying to clear out their family members house so they could put it up for sale. They told us that their grandfather was a hoarder and one of the things he liked to hoard was coins. He enjoyed everything from pennies to silver and gold. He worked at a gas station and would always swap out his change for any interesting coins that he came across. Over the years his collection got out of hand so his wife began taking his coins to the bank to get rolled up so it wouldn't take up so much space in their house. Eventually he came to have a huge collection of rolls filled with pennies as well as other types of small coins. It is because of this that a lot of his rolls have one or more gold coins in them.Initially we opened several of the rolls to check and see what else was in them. We found wheat pennies from 1909 all the way to 1958 in all kind of conditions. We also found Indian Head pennies, Flying Eagles and other coins that are similar in size like silver dimes, Civil War Tokens, Three Cent Nickels, $2.50 gold coins, etc. It appears that the collector's wife had the bank wrap everything together regardless of denomination.We would love to open all of these rolls up and sort everything to sell individually but there are so many rolls there just isn't enough time in the day to do that (especially when we're always out looking for more to buy/sell). If you've ever looked through hundreds of rolls searching for key dates, errors, high grade coins, and other interesting things then you know that it is a very time consuming process and can be quite hard on your eyes. That is why we are selling them off one by one and are keeping them sealed, the same way they were when we purchased them.So far most buyers have been very happy with their rolls and have come back to buy more. The majority of buyers report back finding Wheat pennies but with a nice mixture of dates . A lot of buyers also have told us that they've found a lot of Indian Head pennies as well as other types of coins . Some buyers have even reported finding error coins and key dates . The latter is not to be expected but is a possibility with any roll. Please keep in mind that what you find inside is entirely random and that we can't guarantee anything except what's showing on the ends and that everything inside should be from 1958 or earlier .We hope you enjoy searching this roll and that you find some nice coins to add to your collection.
