Looking for a deal? Of course you are. That's why you came to Ebay. But people have told you that you can get better deals from on-line dealers than you can from Ebay. Well, I'm an on-line dealer and I'm to tell you that's not true in this case. Why? Because the price I've put on this item is dealer cost. It is what I paid for it and what I would pay for another one if I were to buy one today. So this is actually a losing proposition for me because I have to pay a fee to list this on Ebay and another commission to Ebay when it sells. So why am I doing it? Simply because I'd rather have this item in your possession than in my inventory. It is excess inventory and I'd rather have the cash. Go check it out. You won't find this price on dealer web sites and certainly not on mine. Well, you might find a dealer who is doing what I'm doing, namely reducing inventory, but what I say is certainly valid nevertheless. If you want a better deal you need to find one on Ebay that is at auction with a starting price below dealer cost. In my considerable experience, name brand knives normally sell below cost on Ebay auctions. I didn't bother to look to see if t is one at auction. I'll leave that up to you. But if you want one for dealer cost, this is it. You may be wondering why my Ebay account is so new and so small. The reason is that this is my third account since September. Actually, I've been selling on Ebay since 1998 and have sold thousands of knives in that time period with near perfect 100% feedback. Last year Ebay instituted what they call DSR or detailed seller ratings. T are little stars that you can respond to after you have left feedback. It lets you rate the buying experience by a number of factors. The purpose of the program is to instill fear in the hearts of sellers because, if the DSR ratings aren't near perfect, the seller loses the ability to sell. Don't worry, I'm not afraid of you and you shouldn't be afraid of me. What you should expect is that what I advertise is what you will receive, you should expect it to be shipped swiftly and arrive in a timely manner at a reasonable cost. That's what I would expect. And I would consider that average performance. You probably would too and would rate things that way. That gets sellers fired by Ebay, unfortunately. Ebay expects more than that without explaining what more than that involves. So that's why I've had three accounts in the last few months. My DSR's fell below perfection. Sigh. The last one was caused buy a buyer who dinged me for shipping to an incorrect address. It was the address he provided to Paypal. He did send an email asking for it to be shipped to a different address but that happened after the package had already arrived at the wrong address. I lost the knife, the money and the account. So what should you expect from me. Average performance, of course. This is a brand new product as I have said. It will ship to you via UPS the next working day after I receive your payment. UPS picks up every day. The shipping charge will be $8. That is an average for a sub 1 lb. package shipped by UPS ground. If you are in a big city like New York you will probably pay $1 or $1.50 more than it would cost you on my web site but if you live in a small, out-of-the-way place like Good Grief, Idaho, you will save big time on what the shipping would be on my web site. I'm using an average and you know what it is up front. If you don't want to pay $8 for shipping a knife you buy at dealer cost, then don't buy it. But please don't buy it and then complain about the shipping charge. That isn't fair. So t you have it. You understand why this is an excellent deal that actually loses me money and you understan...
