This is a used BUCK #124 hunting knife that is in very good condition. Someone modified the sheath and cut off the retaining strap area flush with the top of the sheath near the throat area. This sheath is still functional, but has no strap to keep it secured inside the scabbard. The belt loop is still present and functional. The heavy duty black leather sheath shows some scuffing and finish loss. Scratches and surface cracking on the loop and rear of scabbard. The knife blade is excellent with just a couple of very, very small specks of rust on the right side near the top and next to the crossguard. I am sure these specks can be removed very easily. The cutting edge appears to be factory and not messed with. The aluminum crossguard and pommel show some light scratches and a couple of very small nicks, these will probably buff out also. The reddish brown wood grain like handles has fine scratches as you roll it around in the sunlight, not bad, but they are noticeable. It looks like this knife was carried a lot, but not used and only the exposed crossguard, handle and pommel got handling and wear. Overall, a nice looking USED knife with a scabbard that has been modified. I have no idea how old this knife.
