This is a Buck Model 186 knife with Titanium handle. I bought it new back in the '80's from a tool wholesaler who also carried Buck knives. Mostly it has sat in my gun cupboard since then, but I did carry it a little when I first got it, and it does show minor scratches on the handle and a little surface rust on the ring that holds the allen tool for disassembly. So, it's not new, but it hasn't been bouncing around in the bottom of a toolbox for twenty years, either. I don't take the best pictures, but I put all of them in, both flash and natural light, so t would be no surprises. I do not have the box or any of the rather copious paperwork that came with the knife(only knife I ever owned that needed instructions). The blade is 3-3/4" long, the whole knife is 8-1/2" long. On the handle next to the blade pivot screw is the word "BUCK" inside of an oval cartouche. On the side of the blade facing the clip is the word "BUCK" over "186>" over "U.S.A." over "PAT. PEND." As for the date code(">"), I believe that they only made this item for one year, as people had problems taking them apart and putting them back together. Buck now makes a Model "186" that is not even close to being the same knife. The clip is held on with two removable allen head screws and can removed for pocket carry.
