This 1996 Centennial Olympic GamesPREMIER EDITION lidded stein, is 22" tall and 5" in diameter. The lidded stein was made in Germany by Gerz. The front is highlighted by a full relief, hand painted illustration of the Atlanta 1996 Centennial Olympic Games Collection Logo. The sides, top & bottom bands feature detailed relief engravings of the official Olympics pictograms. A replica of an Olympic flame, tops the large square lid and a vine covered column forms the handle. Individually numbered with a certificate of authenticity. The Steins were limited in production to 1996. At the time the steins were released the retail across the country ranged from: $500.00-$3,000.00. In the Atlanta area the range was more $750.00-$1,000.00.

I was fortunate to be living in Atlanta at the time of the 1996 Olympics. I purchased several unique items and had them on display in my home. The1996 Summer Olympics were awarded to Atlanta in 1992 . I was also fortunate enough to be able to purchase the stein number 1992 .

The box has some wear to it. Most of it on the top of the lid. As when you opened and closed the top it would stick. There is a tear on each side of the closing tab. The back edge of the top has wear as well. The stein itself is in excellent condition. On the top of the lid in the gold 1896 and 1996 there are little pin dots of where the gold has come off. You will see it in the last picture.

Don't miss out on this part of Olympic history. The 1992 would be a great number to have as it was the year Atlanta was awarded the games.
