Up for auction is a true gem in the world of beer collecting and vintage breweriana collecting. When I was a kid growing up my grandfather was a liquor distributor. We always used to have all kids of liquor things like napkins and glasses, but this was one that he brought home for our bar we had down in our basement. This is one of the first display pieces Budweiser ever put out to promote their beer. Once it was hung from the ceiling in our bar the piece was never moved. I can count on my hands how many times it was turned on. It is in as MINT condition as any collectible can be for being over 30 years old. The "Clydesdale Parade" as it was know, has become one of the most sought after pieces from Anheuser Busch. It also has gone by the name from the lettering on the front "World Champion Clydesdale Team" light. Either way this is the real deal. The piece measures 21 1/2 wide by 19 tall. Obviously it is a circle and not the octagonal light you may also see for sale. This piece is fully functional. I tested it before I took the pictures. The light turns on and once held by the mounting ring she spins like a top. It has the original pieces in it...ie: motor and light and there is no hum at all from the motor. All the characters inside the dome are in MINT condition. There are no chips scuffs or scratches. You can even count the spots on the Budweiser dogs. Like I said in as MINT condition as you can get from a 30 year old piece. The plexi glass as very few scuffs on it and you would have to look closely to find any. The top of the piece does have a little wear but nothing to write about (look at the pic with the serial number tag and you will see what I mean). This is a must have for any collector or beer enthusiast. Would make a great conversation piece around the pool table or bar. As for shipping, if I can keep this local I would love to just to save on shipping fees and the sheer fragility of the piece. If I have to ship it I am going to use the UPS store so they can pack it up nice and secure and ship it with no worry. The cost for that will be 80.00 for ground service. Good luck, and .
