Original British Union of Fascists ("BUF") uniform belt and buckle, circa 1930s. The British Union of Fascists, founded by Oswald Mosley, was a UK-based group strongly anti-communist and argued for a programme of economic revival based on government spending and protectionism. They were ideologically aligned with the NSDAP and Mussolini / MVSN. It seems as though this organization was dissolved in 1940 (ie once WW2 / WWII was in full swing). Check out the period picture showing Mosley and his black shirt / blackshirt buddies wearing belts like the one for sale (the picture is for reference use and not for sale). This belt and buckle are absolutely authentic pieces of 1930s history and make a great ensemble. The buckle is made of nickel silver and measures 3.25 inches by 2.75 inches. It has a fasces / fascio attached by two pins (see picture of reverse). T are light scratches and scuffs but overall conditions is EXC minus. The brown leather belt is original and in EXC condition, with no tears or repairs. T is some white preservative wax on the surface, easily cleaned. It measures 2 3/8" wide and has the original leather keeper and nickel silver fittings present.
