Up for bid is a vintage brass transit from the Buff & Buff Mfg. Co., Jamaica Plain, Boston, Mass. Appears to be in good working order. All of the glass and levels are in good shape. Lens cap comes off easily. Original labels are still on the original wood carying case. "Buff No. 16956" is stamped into the slide-out wood base and also appears under the glass of the transit. "I.C.R.R. No. 320" is stamped into the surface of the transit. The wood around the bottom hinge on the case is broken but t The case is in good but well used condition. The transit stands 13" tall. This transit and case are as found and I will leave any cleaning to the new owner. I will let the pictures be your guide.
