I can't say enough good things about this electric lamp. It's beautiful, well made, impressive in size and the base is bronze instead of cheap resin. I've owned it for at least 10 years but it's not an old lamp. Maybe it was copied after an old oil lamp but I'm just not sure. The base features a cherub holding up what would have been the font in an oil lamp. Attached to that is the fixture that holds the shade. The shade's color is deep perfect red and I can't remember the pattern but looks like feathers or fern leaves. It's a true buffet lamp because it stands 35" high from the base to the chimney. The circumference of the shade is 34 1/2" and the lamp base is 7". It's in perfect condition and a very heavy good quality lamp that works great.
