The Bristol Beaufort was developed from the Blenheim, as was the Beaufighter, notice the shape of the tail and wings. The Beaufort did see action in WW2 in many theatres of action. No.217 Sqdn. served over the English Channel then was moved to CBI via the Mediterranean and Malta where it performed anti-shipping missions for a short period. This particular Beaufort was the review model in FineScale Modeler in 2005 built by myself. Being a review model, it does not have any extra detail added as the idea was to review the kit as it came out of the box, so it is strictly an OOB model. However, it was built to a high standard for the review. I mainly used Xtracolor enamel paints after which I applied a wash to highlight the kit panel lines, but no weathering(a review model). The markings were not from the kit due to problems with their colors as I stated in the written review. Also, the kit did have some inaccuracies which are mentioned in the review, some of which I did correct. I will provide the buyer of this with a copy of my write up…the unedited version, and no magazine. However, Special Hobby’s rendition of the Beaufort is impressive with excellent detail and molding throughout.
