Very nice Bulldog Genuine Abalone Pearl - Large Anglo-Saxon Whittler made in 1999. This knife may also be called an Oval or Cigar whittler. This is a slip-joint model. This knife features a very striking genuine abalone pearl handle on both sides. The abalone pearl in this folder is top notch with lots of fiery blues, greens, golds, and purples throughout. T is also a nickel-silver rounded bar shield on one side that would be suitable for engraving if desired. This is probably one of the largest whittler patterns t are with this one having a closed length of 5 3/16" long. Main blade is 3 5/8" long and is a clip-point style. The two smaller blades are each about 2" long. Overall length is 10 13/16" long (with blades extended). All blades are mirror-polished. Main blade is gold-etched " Celebrated Dirk Knife " with gold leaf-pattern design around that. Main blade is tang-stamped with the bulldog logo and " 1999 HAND MADE " on one side and tang-stamped " BULLDOG BRAND HAMMER FORGED SOLINGEN GERMANY " on the other side. The two smaller blades each have the bulldog logo and " 1999 HAND MADE " tang-stamped on one side only. Knife has nickel-silver bolsters and springs. Liners are made of brass. No play in blade.
