Bundles for America Bundles for Bluejackets Sterling Pin Measures: 1 1/4" The Following information was forwarded to me from a Very Knowledgable person: That pin was for Bundles for Bluejackets (sailors). Bundles for Bluejackets was founded by Natalie Wales Latham (leader of Bundles for Britain) on December 8 , 1941, in direct response to the bombing of Pearl Harbor . It was eventually incorporated into Bundles for America, a charity which collected personal items and knit items for US servicemen. Bundles for America was run by Adelaide Rickenbacker , wife of WWI Ace and Medal of Honor winner, Eddie Rickenbacker . Your pin is vermeil with enamel accents and dates to 1942-44. It would probably have been sold to raise money for the cause, as I've never seen a picture of a BFB representative wearing one. (The officers wore quasi-military uniforms.) This pin is rare--I haven't seen one on ebay in more than a year. Internatioanl Bidders are responsible for all customs duties.
