A nice silkscreen or serigraph by Puerto Rican artist A. Burgos. Done for the event of the XIX 19th Feria Nacional de Artesania de barranquitas . The design is stunning and just jumps out at you. Around the border of the rooster is the following information. En El Vigesimoquinto Aniversario del instituto de cultura puertorriquena auspiciador Colaboradores el municipio y el Centro cultural de barranquintas , D.I.P. 17-18-19 y 20 julio Plaza Publica de Barranquintas. Signed within the image A. Burgos 80. Not hand signed. Size is 191/4" by 25". Condition is good displayable with some toning and evidence of having been rolled. The solid black areas show a little red thru w t are rioll creases. The Smithsonian has a large collection of Posters (primarily silkscreen) , The Puerto Rico Division of Community Education [DIVEDCO] Poster Collection, 1940-1990. that reflect important public service issues on the island. Subjects include education, health and safety, and cultural programs. They were widely displayed throughout the island and reflect key trends in the social history of Puerto Rico for forty years.
