Antique patches from old, precious wedding saris & women dresses from India are patched together at random to create a collage like effect. The result is a majestic kaleidoscope of bonanza of colors bound together in one common theme .This Runner is a sea of Burgundy, Maroon and Chocolate, Copper, Pewter & Gold. About Zardozi Zardozi is raised colored metallic threadwork in intricate designs. Parts of it can be gold & silver toned with springs & coils. The art of Zardozi embroidery uses gold wire (zari). The process of making the gold wire (zari) is extremely intricate and involves heating the gold wire and a silver bar in the furnace to form an alloy. Gold-coated silver wire is extruded from this alloy and this wire when wrapped around a silk thread forms zari. Small patterns take days to finish.
