Please check out my feedback and . (And please check out the other beautiful pots that I have on eBay.) You are bidding on a face jug by legendary North Carolina potter Burlon Craig. DESCRIPTION: This vintage face jug from Burlon Craig has expressive features with large ears, buggy white eyes with cobalt blue centers and an off center mouth with five shiny porcelain white teeth. The pot itself is equally impressive with its gently flared spout and one well-placed handle at the back of the head. There is also an incised sine wave decoration behind the ears and through the handle. The alkaline glaze has a nice tints of blue/green and brown. The face just stands 8 ¼” tall and is in pristine mint condition- no chips, cracks or repairs. It is stamped BB Craig, Vale, NC. This is a no reserve auction . ABOUT BURLON CRAIG: When Vale, North Carolina potter Burlon B. Craig died in July 2002 at the age of 88, it was truly the end of an era. Widely viewed as one of America's best traditional folk potters, Craig was among the last of the North Carolina potters to work in alkaline glaze.
