this is a lovely jardiniere of circular form and lobed rim, decorated with moulded sunflowers, against a rippled-effect treacle ground, marked to the underside 'BURMANTOFTS FAIENCE ENGLAND 1947B', the similarly-decorated column-shaped stand on a tiered, circular base, marked 'ENGLAND 1948B', 104cms high (2). It has a few hairline cracks of the glaze on the internal side of the planter the external has two minor defects ( one on the rim which looks like mist under the glaze and a light chip on one it the petals on the planter) Hopefully these defects are visible from the new photos I have listed. I have had this planter for 15 years and it has been relisted with a reduced buy it now price to reflect the signs of wear described. I did not notice either of the two areas until I was asked to examine by an interested buyer but could not revise the item as it was too close to the item ending.
